Medtech32 is fully compatible with InterBase 2009
We are now pleased to announce that Medtech32 is fully compatible with InterBase 2009 and we recommend that all customers upgrade to InterBase 2009.
Benefits of upgrading to InterBase 2009 include:
- Using a fully supported and current version of the database.
- Please note InterBase 2011 is due for release later on this year and InterBase 2007 will move to passive support at this time.
- Access to significant performance improvements.
- Compatibility with Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7
Please Note: If your practice is still using InterBase 7.1 or another earlier version, we strongly urge you to upgrade to InterBase 2009 as soon as possible. InterBase 7.1 will no longer be supported by the database provider from now on.
Upgrading to InterBase 2009 from Interbase 2007:
Customers who have already purchased InterBase 2007 along with maintenance support, are now entitled to upgrade at no additional cost. Please send through the faxback form to obtain your new license key.
Interbase 2009 Software Maintenance Support:
Medtech strongly recommends that practices also purchase software maintenance support at the same time the software upgrade is purchased.
The benefits of software maintenance support include:
- Free future InterBase license upgrades.
- Transferable to Medtech Evolution at no additional cost for InterBase Licenses.
Important Note
Both Medtech32 and Medtech Evolution will continue to utilise the current InterBase database for the forseeable future. Going forward Medtech Evolution will support both InterBase 2009 or Microsoft SQL Server but not InterBase 2007. Microsoft SQL Server pricing and release dates are yet to be confirmed. We will advise you of these details once they are available.
