Medtech32 Date Field Formatting Diagnostic Tool (May 2010)
We have identified a formatting error with certain date fields. This occurs when you type a six digit date into a date field. For example, if you enter 18/05/10 instead of 18/05/2010 the software displays the date as 18/05/1910, where the year is shown as “1910”.
To determine whether your Medtech32 system has this formatting error, we have developed a Diagnostic Tool. We encourage all practices to download and run this diagnostic tool.

As a result Medtech32 has been updated to align with new criteria in the guidelines by implementing a new Advanced Form for the Diabetes Get Checked program.

Version 18.7 Build 2590 Update

It resolves a number of issues identified by Medtech Practices in previous versions of Medtech32.

Version 18.6 Build 2567 Update
The Auckland District Health Board region’s community laboratory services will transition to Labtests on the 24th August 2009. The Waitemata District Health Board region will follow on the 7th September 2009.
Medtech currently provides only one field to enable a practitioner to record their unique lab identifier. The current existing field holds the Diagnostic MedLab issued practitioner identifier.
This update creates a new field in the Setup > Staff Members module to enable practitioners to record the new Labtests issued Doctor Identifier. This field can also be added as a Merge Symbol in Outbox Document to enable practices to include the new Labtests Doctor Identifier on the Laboratory Order document.
This week, you should have received from Labtests a starter pack which includes details of each practitioners new Labtests Doctor Identifier.
Please follow the instructions provided in the associated Release Notes to:
1. Add the new Labtests Doctor Id to Medtech32 providers within the practice.

Inbox Screening Mapping Utility for Labtests
The Auckland District Health Board region’s community laboratory services will transition to Labtests on the 24th August 2009. The Waitemata District Health Board region will follow on the 7th September 2009.
On the date of your regions transfer to Labtests, the Lab Result Codes coming back from Labtests will be different to the current Lab Result Codes used by DML (Diagnostic MedLab).
In order to ensure consistency in the Screening Terms in Medtech32 when providers file Inbox Results for patients, existing Inbox Screening Terms mapped to DML Test Result Codes will need to be re-mapped to the corresponding Labtests Test Result codes.
Practices can choose to re-map their Inbox Screening Terms to Labtests Test Result Codes manually or by using an “Inbox Screening Mapping” Utility program developed by Medtech. The “Inbox Screening Mapping” Utility will automatically map the current DML Inbox Screening Terms to the corresponding Labtests Subject and Result Codes.
If your practice starts to receive Labtests results for patients before you run the Inbox Mapping Utility you will need to be aware of the following:
1. Any Labtests results received and imported into Medtech32 will generate an Inbox Screening record which will not be mapped to an associated Screening Term.
2. Any Labtests results filed for a patient will not generate a Screening Term unless the Inbox Screening record is updated and manually mapped to an associated Screening Term before filing.
This Inbox Mapping Utility should only be installed by Medtech32 practices in the Auckland and Waitemata District Health Board regions and your practice MUST be on Medtech32 Version 18.0 or a later version. If you ARE NOT on Medtech32 Version 18.0 or a later version, please contact the Medtech Support Desk on 09 358 0116 (Option1) to discuss next steps.
Please ensure you have downloaded and read the Release Notes for this update.
Please ensure you have downloaded and read the Important Customer Communication for Inbox Screening Mapping Utility documentation which contains important information relating to this update.

This field can also be added as a Merge Symbol in Outbox Document to enable practices to include the new Labtests Doctor Identifier on the Laboratory Order document.
This week, you should have received from Labtests a starter pack which includes details of each practitioners new Labtests Doctor Identifier.
