Privacy and performance spawn new interface
Medtech is developing an interface to go between its systems and third party software tools that leverage Medtech's database.
While welcoming fellow New Zealand innovators, Medtech's executive chairman Vino Ramayah says uncontrolled access may eventually threaten the stability of Medtech's own platform.
Medtech's existing software licence agreements with customers says that in order to preserve product warranties Medtech's consent for extraction of data is required.
However, parties outside of those existing licence agreements also need to be managed Mr Ramayah says.
The interface, called Medtech Integration, will have encryption and security levels that will ensure privacy and prevent performance degradation.
Medtech's independent clinical advisory group, headed by Professor Murray Tilyard, is working with the development team. The Integration interface is to be launched later this year.
