What I really liked about Evolution was the Queue Workflow that helps us understand the patient’s journey within the clinic.

Evolution also provides a better understanding of the invoicing of the patient.  Returning to the Queue the next day we are able to see a summary of what was updated on the patient, what was invoiced and what was pending.

I was first exposed to Medtech in 2003 when I joined a medical centre as Practice Nurse.

I had one day to learn the role with the departing nurse, and we started by spending the morning on Medtech32. At first I remember feeling rather overwhelmed. But after playing around with Minnie and Mickey Mouse (dummy patients) I was blown away. It was so easy to follow and work out, they provided fabulous templates to manage, change or re-arrange, and the icons could be easily placed or changed.

Three positions and three practices later, I’m still using Medtech and would recommend it for any practice. It’s such a breakthrough compared to others practice management systems I’ve used.

We were one of the first users of Medtech Evolution Specialist in New Zealand. We understood at that time it was going to be a journey. We had been users of Medtech32 for many years and we were looking to improve our workflow and customize our use for our specialist practice. We saw an opportunity to be involved at the development level and as such have worked closely with the Medtech Evolution team over the past 2½ years.

Our practice comprises of 4 front desk staff, 1 nurse, 18 specialists and 1 practice manager. Some of our specialists are efficient system users and others require a little assistance, however they all use Medtech Evolution to varying degrees.

We have been using Evolution Specialist for well over 8 months in a stable and efficient manner. Evolution Specialist has brought additional functionality that has enabled us to automate otherwise manual practices. It is easy to use and has increased our productivity and efficiency.

We find the following Evolution Specialist features to be useful:

1. Appointment book
2. SMS- text reminders
3. Procedures
4. Estimations
5. Theatre list

We have found the team at Medtech to be responsive to our needs and helped us navigate through this transition. They have always been easily contacted, ready to listen and quick to respond when we've needed their expert advice and assistance.

We are happy with Evolution and would recommend it as an extremely good patient management system for a practice of any size.

I would like to thank Medtech and its staff for the very smooth and successful transition to your cloud solution. By the day after installation we were 95% functional and only minor tweaks were required over the next few days. The reason I went with your team was because I wanted to be under one umbrella, rather than being pushed from one provider to another if there was a problem. I have been most impressed by the seamless way all the HealthLink programmes, MIMS, dr Info etc have been incorporated into my cloud solution, as well as e-referrals. No longer needing backups, no longer needing to pay a software technician to install upgrades and no longer having to pay for hardware is a big bonus. I found your price very competitive even though it is not Procare subsidized – if any of your clients wish to contact me to discuss my experience I would be happy to talk to them.

Our practice had been running on Profile for Mac for over 12 years. We all liked the program and were familiar with it, but as time went on it was not kept up to date, and it became increasingly difficult to get technical help. We realised we would have to change PMS, but approached the task with trepidation. After fairly careful research we opted for Medtech as the software that best met our requirements. Red Beach Family Medical is a small practice with all part-time nursing and reception staff, and without a specialist practice manager. We were changing the entire computer hardware from Mac to PC at the same time as changing the software, so we expected the process to be difficult. However while it was stressful there were no major problems. One month out from the change we are enjoying our new faster and more efficient database, and loving the electronic Special Authorities, faster and more accurate prescribing with MIMS online, advanced forms and easily used screening functions. Billing is quicker and easier for the front desk staff, and the view of enrolment status and accounts owing saves lots of reception time. Everyone has learnt the basics of the program, and we are starting to get the more complex functions and add-ons setup. The work of the Medtech conversion engineer was outstanding, especially in ironing out the problems identified in the all-important Trial Data Conversion six weeks before the change. Training was likewise excellent, with a full day of training on the day before the conversion, then the trainer on-site for the first two days afterwards. The practice was only open for urgent appointments on the training day, but apart from that we were able to run as normal. We are still making good use of the Help Desk, and they always seem to be able to sort things out. So overall, the problems were a lot less than anticipated, and we are already seeing the benefits of the change. We would be happy to discuss the details with any practice who are considering changing to Medtech.
