Biographies of the Management Team

Vino Ramayah - Executive Chairman & CEO

Vino has been involved in the development, growth and management of ICT and Biotech companies in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Vino has lived and worked in several countries including UK, Europe, Asia, and South Africa.

He is also a Director of National Institute of Health Innovation of the University of Auckland. Vino Ramayah holds Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Master of Laws from University of London.

Darryl Stuart - Executive Director

For the past 10 years Darryl has held CEO and senior management positions in state government, financial services, ICT, health informatics, biotechnology, e-commerce and international consulting businesses. Darryl was formerly the CEO and Director of Medtamic Pty Ltd, a company specializing in clinical audit solutions.

As Executive Director of Medtech Global Ltd, Darryl's responsibilities include strategy and management for MD Analyze worldwide. Darryl Stuart holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from University of New South Wales.

Russell Clarke - Executive Director

Russell comes from a career in Banking and Merchant Banking. He has held various senior management and directorship positions during his 30 year career. As the Chief Lending & Credit Manager for New Zealand’s largest finance company at that time, he was responsible for a loan portfolio exceeding NZ $ 2 Billion. He was the Company Secretary of Bankcorp Holding Ltd during its period as a New Zealand publicly listed Merchant Bank and an Executive Director of Bankcorp Advisory Services Ltd for 7 years, with responsibility for advising large corporations on debt funding and structured financing transactions.

Russell is currently a director of a number of private companies and a director of an unlisted public investment company. He became Executive Director of the Medtech Group of Companies in December 2001.

Sanjeewa Samaraweera - Chief Operating Officer

Sanjeewa is the Chief Operating Officer of Medtech Global Ltd. Sanjeewa joined the company as General Manager of strategic projects to lead the Medtech Consumer Health Portal initiative. He has held senior roles in very successful consulting and systems integration practices at Pricewaterhouse Coopers Consulting (now IBM Business Consulting) and Unisys in the Asia Pacific region.

He brings a wealth of experience in formulating and implementing business strategies, managing projects and programmes, delivering large-scale information systems implementations, delivering complex integrated technology solutions, managing client and vendor relationships, managing strategic alliances and managing diverse teams and people. Sanjeewa holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Auckland.

Reena Bose - Financial Controller

Reena comes from a background in Hotels, Banking and the Financial Services Industry. Her experience includes Oberoi Hotels, Citibank and Ernst & Young. Prior to her appointment at Medtech, Reena had been involved in financial administration and project management with several companies under the Cereus Group.

Reena holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Masters in Accountancy from Monash University. She is also a qualified CPA with the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Dr. Peter Sergent - General Manager IT Services

Dr. Sergent brings with him more than twenty years of involvement in the health IT sector. He has spent eleven years with a number of District Health Boards (DHBs) in New Zealand. He has been involved in various health IT projects in Australia.

Peter is a member of Health Information Standards Organisation. Peter holds a PhD from University of Auckland in Computer Engineering.

Dr. Stuart Ekdahl - Manager – Sales and Business Development

Dr Ekdahl is co-founder of the White Cross chain of Accident and Medical Clinics. After graduating in Medicine he was instrumental in establishing the A&M approach to primary care in New Zealand. His innovations include creating the first A&M training scheme and founding a representative A&M primary care association.

Following the sale of White Cross, Dr Ekdahl has worked with a large cross section of New Zealand and Australian healthcare, IT and services companies and has current knowledge and experience of both Ministry of Health and private health projects and funding. Dr Ekdahl brings experience of medical services, IT strategy, business analysis, company governance and leadership.
