Biographies of the Management Team

Vino Ramayah - Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Vino has been involved in the development, growth and management of ICT and Biotech companies in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Vino has lived and worked in several countries including England, Singapore, and South Africa.

Vino is the Chairman of Cereus Holdings Limited, an investment holding company with investments in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe. He is the Executive Chairman of the Medtech Group of Companies, Chairman of Bionova Holdings Limited, a biotech company involved in tissue engineering based in Melbourne, Australia, and  Chairman of InLogic Ltd an IAT Technology Services Company.

Vino Ramayah holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Master of Laws from University of London and has practiced both corporate and commercial law internationally, and served as a Director of a number of multi-national companies in the Asia Pacific.

Russell Clarke - Executive Director

Russell comes from a career in banking and merchant banking. He has held various senior management and directorship positions during his 30 year career. As the Chief Lending and Credit Manager for New Zealand's largest finance company at that time, he was responsible for a loan portfolio exceeding NZ$2 Billion. He was the Company Secretary of Bankcorp Holding Ltd during its period as a New Zealand publicly listed Merchant Bank and an Executive Director of Bankcorp Advisory Services Ltd for 7 years, with responsibility for advising large corporations on debt funding and structured financing transactions.

Russell is currently a director of a number of private companies and a director of an unlisted public investment company. He became Executive Director of the Medtech Group of Companies in December 2001.

Rama Kumble - Chief Technical Officer

Rama has vast commercial and technical experience and is the Chief Technical Officer for Medtech Global Ltd. He is responsible for Research and Development, Technical Delivery and also oversees the Australian Operations and Global delivery.

Rama has over 25 years of experience in various senior positions in the IT industry including COO of Azurn international Ltd, Engagement Manager at Infosys Australia, General Manager Mobile Products for NEC, Country Head and founder Majoris Ltd, and Chief Designer/Architect Unisys Australia.

Rama holds a Bachelor of Science, First Class, and a Masters Degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India.

Sanjeewa Samaraweera - Head of Solution Sales

Sanjeewa joined the company as General Manager of strategic projects and is now the Head of Solution Sales. He also drives Medtech's Consumer Health Portal initiative, ManageMyHealth. He has held senior roles in very successful consulting and systems integration practices at Pricewaterhouse Coopers Consulting (now IBM Business Consulting) and Unisys in the Asia Pacific region.

He brings a wealth of experience in formulating and implementing business strategies, managing projects and programmes, delivering large scale information systems implementations, delivering complex integrated technology solutions, managing client/vendor relationships, strategic alliances, diverse teams and people. Sanjeewa holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the University of Auckland.

Reena Bose - Group Financial Controller

Reena comes from a background in hotels, banking and the financial services industry. Her experience includes Oberoi Hotels, Citibank and Ernst & Young. Prior to her appointment at Medtech, Reena has been involved in financial administration and project management with several companies under the Cereus Group.

Reena holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a Masters degree in Accountancy from Monash University. She is also a qualified CPA with the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Simon Crase - Chief Architect

Simon has over 30 years experience in the IT industry in various roles including Chief Architect, Project Manager, Developer, and Systems Analyst. He worked in the NZ Government Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, and lectured in Mathematics at Victoria University of Wellington. Simon holds a Master of Science (with distinction) in Mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington and a Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Auckland.

Simon joined Medtech from Invetech, where he consulted to companies developing safety critical systems - medical devices, early warning smoke detection, and security.

Darryl Stuart - Non Executive Director

For the past 10 years Darryl has held CEO and senior management positions in state government, financial services, ICT, health informatics, biotechnology, e-commerce and international consulting businesses. Darryl was formerly the CEO and Director of Medtamic Pty Ltd, a company specializing in clinical audit solutions.

Darryl Stuart holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of New South Wales.
