Fitness activity tracking in ManageMyHealth
Fitness trackers are the new gym membership. When we first get them, they’re shiny and new, and it’s easy to get swept up, thinking that they’re going to transform our lives. Then, three months later the novelty wears off and reality bites. You actually have to exercise or else all that you’ve bought is an expensive wristband.
Of course, if you do exercise, and you know that you should, fitness trackers are great tools to help track your progress and stay motivated. For those who don’t know, a fitness or activity tracker is a device, generally a wearable, or an application on your smartphone for monitoring and tracking fitness-related metrics such as distance walked or run, calories burned, and in some cases, heartbeat and quality of sleep. Now the only trouble is jumping back and forth between a flurry of apps and constantly checking your wrist to get the full picture.
Today we’re very pleased to announce that ManageMyHealth, Medtech’s customisable online portal, available to patients anytime from their internet browser or mobile phone, has introduced a brand new feature allowing users to connect their accounts with the Fitbit activity tracker. Support for other popular wearable devices, like Galaxy Gear and Apple Watch, as well as many apps, is planned for rollout in the future. People using ManageMyHealth will now be able to sync their Fitbit with the robust patient portal, making it easy to share and discuss health-related data with their doctor.
